HOT OFF THE PRESS PEEPS - Looks like Hirsch is in final talks to star as the main character in the Wachowski brothers' movie adaptation of the 1960s Japanese animation series Speed Racer. Read all about HERE.
Not that he’s not a good looking lad and all, but we’re not sure if we can picture Hirsch as Speed… mostly because speed was a ‘Hopa’ (a delightful mixed breed of American and Japanese), but we’re willing to give it a try. You can catch Hirsch (Alpha Dog, Lords of Dogtown) next in the Sean Penn-directed Into the Wild, which is due out this fall. The film is based on Jon Krakauer's nonfiction book about a man who abandoned his life to move to the Alaskan wilderness.
Shooting on Speed should start this summer to meet its scheduled release of May 2008. As soon as we hear who’s nabbing the Trixie role, we’ll let you know!
