The best Sheriff of Not, as far as we're concerned.
Rumors are flying that Universal has snagged a movie script called Nottingham, that will put Crowe in the Robin Hood hotseat for tasty $20 mil.
The creators of Sleeper Cell (writers Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris ) should be able to pull off a pretty cool rendition of this old classic, which may start filming at the end of the year. But first they need the perfect Robin Hood and Maid Marion, right? We’ll keep our ears on at the water cooler…
The script, (which bags Reiff & Voris seven figures for those little sheets of paper) is based on the funky premise that Robin Hood was a bit less virtuous, and that the sheriff was more noble than previously depicted. Dang, we really wanted to see Russell Crowe as the bad guy (although NO ONE could pull off as evil a Sheriff as Alan Rickman in the 1991 version) but at least the story supposedly involves a love triangle between Robin Hood, Maid Marion and Nottingham's sheriff. Ahhhh… a threesome… ain’t that sweet!
