Wacky, psychotic, funny and charming... it's a hard mix but he pulls it off.
Speaking of that creepy ole movie Se7en, Kevin Spacey has been working on a new movie based on the 2002 nonfiction book (by Ben Mezrich) Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions. The title pretty much says it all… so no plot-leaking required.
What he has finally dealt out is the lead part of the MIT student who heads to Vegas to beat the casinos, which looks like it'll be Jim Sturgess. He’s a young, obscure choice having mostly only been seen on TV (except for one indie called Mouth to Mouth), but he’s a good looking lad… and isn’t that really the main point?!
Spacey may actually be in the movie himself, playing the student’s mentor; and he’s producing the film with Dana Brunetti and Michael DeLuca. The director will be Robert Luketic and we’ve heard that February is the start date. The film was adapted to screen by Peter Steinfeld and Allan Loeb.
Mr. Spacey has had a busy year having recently wrapped Julie Taymor's Across the Universe, where he plays the male lead opposite Evan Rachel Wood; and he’s still filming The Other Boleyn Girl with Eric Bana and Natalie Portman. We like this kooky guy who once said, "If I'm sick of me, I can only imagine how other people feel." We say, “Serve us up some more Spacey!”
