Fan-freakin-tastic! A treasure trove of Cannes Film Festival archive footage is now available online - with the launch of a new website created by the festival and France's INA national television archive. A labor of love, we’re sure…
Celebrating the 60th anniversary of the world’s most famous film festival, Ina-festivaldecannes.com launched the site which contains dozens of hilarious and thoughtful gems such as Alfred Hitchcock's famed interview where he defines suspense (in jankety French) and Maurice Pialat (recipient of the Palme d'Or for Under Satan's Sun) responding to boos from the crowd with a defiant "I don't like you, either." Classic stuff here folks.
Starting back to the festival’s first edition in 1946, you’ll find about 300 hours of footage packaged in 1,500 excerpts. Perfect little bite-sized pieces of cinema history which include a list of favorite Cannes moments from famed industry folks. Visitors will also be able to add their own amateur footage of the festival, rounding out the anniversary montage! Go check it out HERE.
