You da man!
The 50th San Francisco Film Festival is just around the corner (April 26th - May 10th) and headlining the Awards night on May 3rd is the man himself, Spike Lee. Also to honor him, the Fest will unspool a full four-hour version of When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts on the following evening, among 300 other films that are highlighted in this year's program. Full festival details HERE.
"Spike Lee is a masterful director and one of the most important filmmakers of our generation," said Graham Leggat, exec director of the San Francisco Film Society. "No American director of the last 25 years has done more to lever open and examine the inner workings of American society than he has." You got that right...
Aside from Spike's directing award, Peter Morgan and George Lucas scored one themselves for screenwriting... so it should be one hell of a gold anniversary gala and a great excuse to visit fog city. Congrats Spike!
