Award for least supported actress goes to…
Here’s another darling that peaked in the 80’s, and then plummeted once her teen roles dried up (which she was ironically too old to be playing anyway!). In Breakfast Club she plays a high school senior, when she was in fact already 23… in case you didn’t notice that St. Elmo’s Fire was out that same year, and she played a 20-something year old. Ahhhh the magic of Hollywood.
So the girl who had her start on TV at the age of 19 (I Think I’m Having a Baby), broke into movies at the age of 21 (Bad Boys with Sean Penn) and then ran with the brat pack briefly also known as the John Hughes gang)… soon found herself stuck in a slew of B-movies like One Night Stand and The Autumn Heart in the 90’s (although we must note the controversial lesbian flick High Art... a sizzler!), as well as a crapload of TV roles. Things were just not looking good for this aging actress… until this decade. She’s landed quite a few little movie roles and this year is perhaps her biggest in Day Zero (with Elijah Wood and Chris Klein),as well as Steamroom (with Kate Siegel) and Perestroika (obscure Russian-flavored flick).
We’re sad to say she hasn’t been a shooting star, but the girl has had steady work and that’s more than most people in Hollyweird can boast!
